STEM High School Internship - Winter & Spring, Internal Salem Public Schools Student ONLY SY2024-2025
Job Description & Program Goal:
The STEM Internship is designed to provide high school students interested in pursuing careers in STEM or education with hands-on experience. Interns will support after-school clubs and programs at elementary and middle schools throughout the district, gaining practical skills and insights into the field of STEM education while contributing to the success of younger students.
Internship Commitment:
This is a 10-week program, with the possibility of extending for an additional 10 weeks during the winter or spring session. Interns must be available during after-school hours, committing at least 2 hours per week, with the option to work up to 10 hours per week.
In addition to regular weekly hours, interns are required to:
- Attend a mandatory program orientation.
- Communicate with the internship supervisor to coordinate support for club programming and ensure alignment with program outcomes.
- Participate in bi-weekly professional development sessions designed to enhance professional skills and STEM knowledge.
- Engage in weekly check-ins with the internship supervisor for guidance, feedback, and progress tracking.
All required paperwork for Salem Public Schools must be completed before the internship begins, and interns must be at least 16 years of age by the start of the program.

Compensation: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
