2024 OST Employment Opportunities with HMLS’s 21C Program - INTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLY

 

HMLS is seeking teachers and paraprofessionals to work in the newly funded 21C after-school program. The program starts on October 15th and will run through May 30th. 21C will serve students in grades 3rd, 4th and 5th.  The program will run three 10 week sessions. Staff can apply to work all three sessions or just one or two sessions.

 

Program Session Schedule:

Monday & Tuesday 

  • 1:55- 2:40 Program Check-in, Choice Blocks, Circle & Snack
  • 2:45-4:00 PBL Block 
    • 3 to 4 PBL offerings 
  • 4:00-4:15 Program Dismissal Routines

Thursday & Friday 

  • 1:55- 2:40 Program Check-in, Choice Blocks, Circle & Snack
  • 2:45-4:00 Enrichments  
    • 3 to 4 Enrichment offerings 
  • 4:00-4:15 Program Dismissal Routines 

 

 

Site Coordinator Role: is the point person in charge of the 21C program and responsible for the well-being of students, behavioral challenges, and day-to-day program operations. 

 

Site Coordinator Responsibilities: 

21C Family Engagement Facilitator

Support program family communication on a daily basis. The 21C FEF will be responsible for sending out weekly program newsletters to families. Support site coordinator in communicating with families in regard to transportation and program updates. Co-plan end-of-session program showcase with the support of the site coordinator. Support program check-in routines and dismissal routines. Communication with families, staff any changes in student schedules.

 

Coach/ Curriculum Development: 

Support development of a curriculum outline for the STEM/Math PBL Curriculum. Align program scope and sequence with MyView priority questions and grade level standards to support synchronicity  in learning after school. Paid hourly rate for 10-15 hours of planning & curriculum support. 

 

Teachers needed for PBL Blocks & Enrichment Blocks

Hours for these positions are 2:15-4:00. SPS teachers will be paid SPS contracted hourly rate. 

2:15-2:45 Planning time |  2:45-4:00 Program time

Additional Teacher Responsibilities: 

Paraprofessionals are needed to support 21C as group leaders. Group Leaders are essential in supporting students and assisting site coordinators in the day-to-day operations of the program. Group Leaders will be assigned to a group of 12-16 students. Within their assigned group, you will lead activities to build students’ social-emotional skills, reinforce behavior expectations and routines, and provide academic support. Group leaders will build strong positive youth-adult relationships. Group leaders generally work two to four days after school Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 2:05-4:15 PM, and are paid current hourly district rates.
