Summary

The Early College Student Support position is responsible for aspects of supporting the students who are enrolled in the early college program for both Salem State and North Shore Community College. Under the support of the Early College Program Coordinator, the expectation of this position is to support students and families as they take their Early College course work as well as support the recruitment and admission of the students interested in early college.  The goal for SHS is to have students take a college course and have the necessary support in place for success.

 

We are looking for a Candidate who is interested in working with students and families as they take on the challenge of a college course. 

 

Responsibilities include: 

• Monitoring EC students academics and attendance 
• Work directly with Early College Professors and Co-teachers on how to best support students who are struggling in their course work 
• Update Early College Program Coordinator and School Counselors on students who are struggling and next steps. 
• Update families on students academics 
• Support recruitment of students for Early College   
• Maintain a comprehensive spreadsheet with all students enrolled 
• Communicate with families and students regarding academics 
• Document communication

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
• Bilingual candidates and candidates of color strongly encouraged to apply
• Second language (Spanish and/or Portuguese) proficiency a plus
