What You’ll Do:
Salem High School is seeking tutors to support students in developing competence in student-specific areas of need for students taking the November ELA and/or Math MCAS retests. Instructional support will be delivered through individual and small group instruction on five Saturday sessions beginning on October 5 and ending on November 2. Hours will be from 8-12, with the first hour designated as a prep. We are seeking one tutor in each of the following subject areas: math, ELA, ESL, and Special Education. Compensation is at the contractual rate of $45/hour.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small group instruction for students within the context of the classroom by using specialized instructional strategies to ensure success in mathematics.
- Plan and implement student-centered, engaging lessons based on state standards and student-specific areas of need
- Provide progress-monitoring for students receiving additional supports.
- Maintain weekly schedule; collaborate with others.
- Additional duties may be assigned

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree Required; Master’s Degree preferred
- Required Massachusetts certification in the specified subject area ßby the Massachusetts Department of Education, or in the process of licensure
- SEI Endorsement Required
- Ability to meet the expectations of the Massachusetts Standards and Indicators of Effective Teaching Practice
- Second Language (Spanish) proficiency a plus
- Current authorization to work in the United States
