TitleDiscovery Pathways Committee, Salem High School, internal candidates only, 2019-2020
Posting ID975
Description

Salem High School is committed to 90% of graduates earning a Discovery Pathway Endorsement on their diploma by 2024.  The 19-20 Discovery Pathways Committee will define and design student experiences within courses and along pathways for 20-21 implementation that lead to this endorsement requiring service learning, internships, advanced coursework and a capstone presentation.  The committee will also sponsor innovators in project-based learning in Fall 2019 and pilot student experiences (minimally in work based learning) in Winter/Spring 2020.  Structures and systems (such as the SHS Program of Studies) will be reviewed and recommendations will be put forth from the committee members to district policy makers.  There will be a dual focus on designing experiences and implementing experiences.

The committee is accountable for growth towards the measurable annual goals of the Turnaround Plan, especially benchmarks for practice #2 (improving instruction).  If you are interested in leading and contributing to the ongoing redesign efforts at Salem High School, this opportunity may be of interest to you.
