Job Description: As a Kitchen Intern in the Salem High Kitchen, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in the world of food service and hospitality. This internship is designed to provide you with insights into the daily operations of a bustling café and develop essential skills for a career in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service: Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Preparation: Assist in food preparation, including handling ingredients, making breakfast, including running a made to order waffle station while maintaining food safety standards.
• Café Maintenance: Help maintain a clean and organized café environment, including cleaning work area tables, restocking supplies, and ensuring the café is presentable at all times.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with café staff to ensure efficient service and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
• Learning and Development: Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance your knowledge of café operations, customer service, and food handling.
• Assisting with record keeping

Qualifications:

• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and contribute to the team.
• Good communication skills.
• Reports to work as scheduled, sign the posted timesheet, and remain on the job until dismissal by the manager.
• Notifies the manager and the main office at the earliest possible time when unable to work.
• Maintains pleasant working relations with fellow employees by showing consideration for others: patience, respect, self-control.
• Enrolled in the Culinary Arts program

Pay: $15.00/HR
